Gaucher disease is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder that affects the organs in the body. Gaucher is the most common lysosomal storage diseases. This disorder is caused by an enzyme deficiency.This deficiency creates a fatty substance that can build up in the the spleen, kidneys, brain, liver, bone marrow, and lungs. Individuals with this disorder may have symptoms such as; bone lesions, swollen lymph nodes, anemia, low blood platelets, liver problems, skeletal disorders, and an enlarged spleen and liver.
